We are going to hire more people and it's extremely important for us to choose the most comfortable ways to deliver salary to our employees. So please help me understand what payment methods are the most convinient in Indonesia.

    • What additional 5 payment systems you would prefer to receive your salary in? Explain your choice please.
    • What other forms of payment are common and easy to use in Indonesia? Are there any popular e-currencies? Which ones?
    • Do you have some online exchangers, where it is possible to change one e-currency to another, or to get cash? Tell me about them please.

    And the last additional question:

How can I pay for goods and services on Indonesian websites? What e-currencies\payment methods should I use? List them in order of prevalence\popularity please.

The most convenient way is bank transfer since we don't need additional actions to get the money in bank account.

Western Union is a good alternative although we have to come in person at nearest Western Union agent to get cash.

Although Paypal can be used to receive payment, we have to withdraw to our bank account to get cash. Other than "dispute" feature, Paypal have the lowest currency exchange compared with two above.

Most of Indonesian e-commerce accept bank transfer & credit card ( Visa / Mastercard ) payment.

Most of Indonesian e-commerce : bank transfer & paypal
rarely accept credit cards, usually only biggest Indonesian e-commerce, usually using paypal to processing credit cards

where are you come from btw?
i recommends those 2 payment options is enough for sending or receiving for Indonesian employee/e-commerce

For off-line business, bank transfer is the most convenient.
As for online business, Paypal, Western Union, Bank transfer is acceptable.

    PS.

If you need new employees, you can post the vacancy in this forum. :D

    Thanks everyone for help!

While I read all your responses, some additional questions show up:

    • According to our information 80% of payments are made through the local bank. Is this true? It was also stated that only 2.5% of Indonesians have credit cards. Is this true as well?
    • What do you think about receiving money directly to your Visa\MasterCard? Have you ever used this method?
    • How to receive transfers from local bank and how to send them? Is there any intermediaries who is going to take it upon itself and send it to us back (except for fees) in PayPal maybe? Are there some sort of payment aggregators which accept payments from you (including Bank Lokal, credit cards, PayPal, etc.) and also allow you to pay from this same account for goods and services?
    • How foreign companies can open bank accounts for themselves to send/receive payments for Bank Lokal? Or it can be done only by local Indonesian company?
    • Is it possible to use one cellphone account to pay the bill for another cellphone? It seems like Pulsa is the answer, but it's not clear to me how this system works. Can someone explain?
    • I was surprised to hear that there are not much online exchangers in Indonesia. If you, for example, wants to exchange Neteller or Paypal to Bank Lokal, how do you do it?

P.S.: Sorry for too many questions at once! But it's really important to me.

Finally, we need a specialist who can make a website usability audit.

We need a guy who is familiar with the online projects - to make an audit on the following criteria:

    -Content, texts
-Interactivity and understandability of the site elements
    -Navigation
-Convenience and clarity of the insides of the site for the user
-Convenience of buying the service, withdrawal of funds
    -Structuredness and webdesign appeal
    -etc.

    Send your bids in PM

P.S.: BE SURE to specify the projects you've worked with, if there are any examples of website usability report.

    1. Western Union, Bitcoin.co.id, MoneyGram, Paypal, Local bank transfer.
Reason: Google Adsense uses Western Union :)

2 and 3. We have Bitcoin.co.id, FasaPay, iPaymu, T-Cash, Dompetku, XL Tunai

    4. If you want to pay for goods / services on Indonesia websites, the most common to use is local bank transfer then credit card. You could check lazada.co.id, mataharimall.com, elevenia.co.id, and blibli.com and see what they use for payments

    1. Yes it's true, we mostly use local bank transfer because the requirement to apply for a credit card is very high / difficult.
    2. Mostly we don't have that experience
    3. For local companies we use local bank, for international companies (ebay, amazon) we use paypal and credit card
    4. Foreign companies can send/receives payment from local bank by establish a representative office in Indonesia.
    5. Pulsa means cellphone credits. Cellphone credits cannot be used for pay the bill but we like to "exchange" using cellphone credits because it's faster to send and receive. If you are a company do not use cellphone credits because you cannot withdraw it as a money... instead you may use e-money from telecomunication provider like T-cash (Telkomsel), Dompetku (Indosat Ooredoo) and XL Tunai (XL Axiata) but in Indonesia those e-money is not popular yet.
    6. We mostly use third person service (who has credit card) then do the exchange + fee. However, I prefer to use Bitcoin.co.id as is now a legitimate company for exchange (at least until now).
